Graftings with caput medusae

Hello,

today I will show you my vegetativ graftings from acm.
I have 9 different clons, from this I make grafts and seeds every year.
With this article, I will show you my work this year 2010.

Now, the first plants are ready to sale - they are all away from this year. I keep a few plants for the mother asset flexible-carnose and the tuberkels of acm can better drive out after 1-2 months after grafting.

I hope I can show you some of my grafting.

Dear Daniel, wonderful results and thanks for the report!
It seems it works very well with fero glaucescens...we have few questions.
How do you cut the pieces of tubercles, half and a half on the length or you cut only a slice that you trow away and keep the bigger part for grafting? Does it work better with the top of tubercles or with the bottom part?
And in your first photo, the piece of tubercle is not put in the middle of fero, does it sprout like the other grafts?

Hello!

Yes, F. glaucescens is the best for acm.
I cut half and half, than i took the pieces on the glaucescens (2-3 tuberkel).
it`s equal if you need the top or the bottom of the turbercel.

I graft 2-3 tubercels per ferocactus. sometimes there gos 1-2 dead, so there is only 1 tubercel per ferocactus, so it`s right or left on the stock, but this isn`t bad, all cast out!

Thanks for sharing your expirience, last year I did only one graft the same way, its still the same as I graft it.  How long does it takes for the digito to star showing new tubercules???
