I have been in awe of the collections of the other members on here and have not had much to share. However a recent graft of mine has shown numerous crested offsets before the main head has shown any noticeable features. This is a 2 month old from seed graft of Astrophytum asterias cv. SUPERKABUTO seeds... it was grafted before showing any interesting features.

Is this a hybrid with ornatum or do those spines go away with time?

What's the evolution of this plant now?

I separated the crested growth to keep it growing however after it has grown a bit it seems to have reverted to multiheaded rather than remaining crested. Hopefully it will continue crested however doesn't look promising.
