Name of this cultivar ? and seed exchange
« on: Friday, 31 August 2012 - 10:17:39 »
Hello,

Do you know this cultivar, and has it a special name? I think it's a retusus. Plants have not been grafted, they are on their own roots.

First, here is a global view from one side:

And from the other side (same plants):

Here is one plant closer:

And another one:

Tubercules are 5cm wide, still growing:

I think these plants have not shown yet their full potential, as tubercules are wider each year. They are now 5cm wide.
I produced some seeds this year (with flowers from last year), and I'd like to exchange against other cultivars, such as maruibo, cauliflower, cauliflower king, etc.
Please write me if interested: yann@cactuspro.com

Hi Yann, Very nice plants! They look like A. furfuraceus cv. magnificus to me.

Hello Simon & Daniele,

Thanks for the comments.
The plants have been sown in 1999, and I did not pushed them to grow fast. I like them that way ;-)
However I grafted seedlings I got from them, on Pereskiopsis, a few days ago. We'll see what happens :)
