I like these all they are great. It's a long term commitment to breed ariocarpus.
Some I've done, Sorry for picture quality it is cold and dark down here this time of year!

Trying to propagate a nice coloured cv.latus...wonder if it will work?

One year old Confusus X Kotschoubeyanus v. elephantidens seedlings. More than half of these were variegate!

hello guys! these plants are very good looking, compliments!
But it will be better if the name of the crossing is specified...in order to understand what they took from the mother and what from the father.
Personally I'd identify them as hybrids, not yet as cultivars, cos cultivars mantain the characters for several generations.
So the topic is a bit off-topic, cos most of them are variegated plants.
It will be nice to divide the topic among retusus variegations...fissuratus variegations and so on...
Once I heard that the way to obtain variegation in ariocarpus is to cross pink flower group (fissuratus etc) white white flower group (retusus etc), is it true according to your experience?

thanks
Carlo & Daniele

Hi C&D, THANKS for your appreciation. I changed the title, maybe it is more realistic now. It is a long term process to achieve such results, maybe you should try it, to see what I mean...Have a gooooo man, as we did...

All plants marked (clone 4) are all from the same seed pod. N.B. I did not create those plants by mixing the colours of the flowers. They just decided to be like that through nature.

Great Mario! Are those plants F1 hybrid or did you obtain them from following crosssing between F1 plants (F2, F3 etc)?

Hi C&D, thanks. Those are F1. I could have continued, but as I said, it's a long process, and space is limited...
