Retusus cv. pectinatus X Scapharostris
« on: Saturday, 14 April 2012 - 09:24:49 »
These were some of the first Ariocarpus hybrids I made. They grow large and fast and  have the woolly groove like pectinatus but they have the boat shaped tubercles, dark body colour and pink flowers of scapharostris.
They were in full flower today after two and a half years. I now just have to wait about ten more months for the seeds to ripen...
Photos of before and after.

The plants are between 7-10cm wide and the stocks are 8-12cm tall with 3cm buried.
Here is a photo of same age plants of the species Scapharostris(at left) and some hybrids.
Two plants in center are of the cross with pectinatus and the plant far right is ConfususXScaphirostris.

Second is a close up of confusus hybrid. I really like this cross it has great form. Both body colour and flower colour are a lot darker than they appear in the photo.
