G'morning Carlo and Daniele

I can understand the meaning of "maruibo".
It is simply said about the shape of tubercles which are round.
There is no name of species but I assume it is a furfuraceus, as same as cauliflower. (from appearance on your photo)

Honestly I have never heard the description of "maruibo".
Japanese cactus nurseries who I know use the word "daruma ibo".
Daruma is an Indean Buddhism monk. He maditated in a cave so long and lost his hands and legs. As the result his body shape became "round".
I think "maruibo" is same as"daruma ibo".

Frank,

Thanks for the info and the nice story!
Yes, we think too it's furfuraceus.

Your plant is very similar to "Golf Ball" which Yokohama-jj has.

Frank,

the plant is quite similar to the one of the website, even if that one is almost perfect, and the skin seems also different.
great picture on that website!

Very nice Daniele.
Is this the mother of the maruibo cauliflower x cauliflower seeds you offer in your seedlist?
