asterias nudum x variegated and asterias variegated x nudum
« on: Wednesday, 11 January 2012 - 22:59:22 »
Hello, this season I crossed the following plants:

#19 Astrophytum asterias v. nudum variegated

#980 Astrophytum asterias v. nudum

And here are the results:

#19 X #980

#980 X #19

What do you think?
Is it allways the father stronger than the mother?
How do you choose which one will be mother and which one father?
I would love to read your opinions, comments and suggestions.

usually if you want variegated asterias seedling you have to chose a variegate mother and use the flowers that harise from the yellow/red part of the plant, talking about sperkabuto i have the impression that father plants  are teh responsabele ofthe beauty of the sons.

Thank you cortona... that's something I've never heard before.
I don't know if the fruit came from a flower in the yellow part of the plant.
The picture of the #19 is from the past season. Maybe this year it flowered frome another place.
