That is a very very beautifull plant Sandro! I grow and graft many seedlings of this cultivar, but they are still quite small, so they do not have the same caracter as your big plant yet.

we collected these days the seeds from the white spines plants.
so maturing period is about two months during summer.

Here is one of my sirotoge suiheimaru seedlings from 2010. It is starting to show some very strong spines, but what is happening to the body of the plant?

I think it is genetic, because the plant has ben "wrincled" all the time. The skin pattern seem to keep on developing as the plant grows bigger.

My guess is that there is a "smouldering" infection caused by dead tissue in the graft union. Not bad enough to kill the scion but it effects the health. Anyway just a thought.
Beautiful cultivar this one, never seen an actual plant of it down here.
