Echinopsis crest

Several years ago, one freshly grafted Onzuka started to dry up. After a short while, an Echinopsis shoot started to emerge through the semi-dry Onzuka. To my greatest surprise, a crest started to form. Now, the plant is pretty big already, about 30 cm wide, and is constantly growing bigger. I've never seen flowers on it, only some plantlets from time to time, all being 'normal'.



3 or 4 years ago, I divided the crest in two pieces. One of them is on the picture above and the other half grows on it's own roots, being barely one tenth of the 'big brother'.
