Astrophytum MYRIOSTIGMA Zipfelmütze
« on: Friday, 16 December 2011 - 20:27:40 »
Hello friends,

today I will show you a special plants - it isn`t a kikko or coahuilense like you find in thailand, china and so else.

It`s a real A. myriostigma (not coahuilense, no kikko!) Zipfelmütze.
You find pictures from this plant in logi cactus (a book about rare cultivars from astrophytum, ariocarpus...

This plants are from the same person as the pictures in logicactus (book) are...

Wish you fun.

The first plant is the latest ;)

WOW!!
That is truly fantastic. I saw this in the background of one of your other photos and have always wondered "What is that!?"
Thanks for showing us. It has a really great form and shows it from a small size. I love the way it is so rounded and alien looking. The form of kikko cv. is quite sharp and angular by comparison.
Having the cultivar in both flecked and nuda form is great. The grafted plant almost looks like there is some Hakuun going on as well.
And seeds... SEEDS!!!!!!
How about if I offer to trade you my right arm for some of those!

Hello Simon!

Thank you for your post.
This plant didn`t have an flowering-chop (i didn`t know the exactly english word for it - do you know what I mean?)
So you must dust the pollen with a other, "normal" a. myriostigma plant to get seeds from it. It`s hardly difficult, i know.
I have A. myriostigmas, with the gene of zipfelmütze (english name jokers had?)
They are from a sowing with seeds of "zipfelmütze" - but they are normal - plants you would off-select - but the gene are the same! So you can make seeds.

Wishes!
Daniel
