Hello every body!

Carlo & Daniele, your asterias kikko are very nice!
I like especially the small one with big areoles. I think the Thai call it 'Mama Kikko" because it has big tubers.

Astrophytum asterias cv Kikko is the best cultivar for me! It is the prettiest among all astrophytum cultivar!!
Here are someone of my collection:

Typical pattern:

x Super Kabuto:

Special pattern:

little 'Muscle':

I tried to cross these two plants, but I didn't have seeds  :'( maybe there are from the same clone?

With asterias Kikko, I don't have many seeds in general... :( and you?

All your plants are really beautiful, I haven't yet kikko in my collection but it's in my project of nex year ! Maybe I will begin with seed because I'm curious of their growth.

We have few motherplants of asterias kikko but they produce quite a lot of seeds.
The one you like, the nudum with big tubercles if from seed of the plant in the first photo.
The second one is less marked than the first one, but it has a very nice flower and it produces good seeds!

I don't have much luck so...
I had several Kikko blooms this year, but only one gave me seeds...  :'(
I have many plants that look sterile, especially in clones from China. Those from Thailand are better, they do a lot of seeds.

yes it's true, i think it's because of cloning from offset. Many clustering plants are not fertile.
that's why we prefer to produce new plants from seed.
