These 3 kabutos are owned by Mr. Doi who is the president of Nishi Mikawa Cactus Club, near Nagoya.
The top one is a star shaped super kabuto. The seedling came from Mr. Ogiwara who is Vice President of Japan kabuto enthusiatic assosiation (Nippon Kabuto Kyoukai).
The plant is very close to the original one and grown larger. The current super kabuto is crossed repeatedly and body size has become smaller.
2nd and 3rd ones are normal kabuto but this means they are not normal asterias.
There is no normal asterias in Japan. I think they are normal white kabutos.

Kabuto will be the best looking age when plant is around 10 years old and deteriorate later. I think they are around 20 years olds.
If you kept own rooted kabuto for 20 years, your kabuto will be similar shape anyhow.

Japanese use Calles kabuto (F1) to re-gain the size.
